I'm a 22 year old student studying virtual and augmented reality. I was always passionate by computers and new technology. Quite early I started playing some computer games, but I quickly lost interest because I was interested by the mechanics behind the games. To get into programming I then started to create some websites. That way I learned how i should structure my code so that I can always find myself in it. In high school I chose to switch to an informatics class. On 11th grade, I started programming in Java. At the beginning, the code was quite simple, but it became more complicated after one year. I learned how to create a GUI and how to handle lists, draw on the GUI and I even learned to handle exceptions, to create recursive methods and to work with binary trees. Beside programming I was also taught some general informatics like how to handle Linux operating systems, how networking works and how to organize your own databases.
In October 2020 I started studying virtual and augmented virtuality at the SRH University in Heidelberg. In the first semester I learned how to make scientific research and I was introduced into the history of VR and AR. I also learned about video and audio technologies, and I got an introduction into programming in C++. Beside of those lessons we also had to create our own cardboard game in small groups of 3-4 students. Later, we developed our first 2d platformer and are now developing a 3d game with unity. At the same time I am learning how to develop applications for mobile devices.
Of course, I also have other interest which are listed below.
As a child I always was interested in music. At that time, I didn't know that it would become one of
my biggest passions. I started with general classes where I learned how to read notes and chords.
A few years later, I started to play my first instrument, the clarinet. After 3 years, I stopped
and switched to jazz piano.
With a great teacher I had 8 funny years by playing the piano. I also participated in some combos,
and I even was a member of a big band and played some concerts.
After some years I once replaced a musician on the vibraphone on a small concert in Bech on an
event of the Bech-Berbuerger Musek (BBM). At the same day I was asked by the conductor to
help in percussion. I quickly gained interest and learned by myself to play some of the percussion
instruments.
Life without sports would be boring.
When I was 6 years old, I first stood on Skis. Since then, skiing is my favorite sport.
I learned to Ski in Austria in the Kleinwalserthal. As a teenager I then participated at several
ski camps in France. This way I was able to ski on beautiful slopes and even in the biggest ski
resort in the world, les 3 vallées.
As skiing is mostly only possible during wintertime, I had to look for some occupation during the summer. As I love being in and around the water to get a refreshment, I chose sailing for the summer. Sailing is a great hobby. Disconnected from the rest of the world you're alone on a boat where nobody bothers you. This way I also discovered a part of the world. Most of the time I learned to sail in the north-west of France in the Bretagne, but I also sailed on the Aegean Sea in Greece.
